I've
collected quite a few books and recommend the titles below as among the
best in their category. Follow the links to

Amazon still does all the work
and ships items directly to you at their normal prices; my
site is just a gateway
to their "store."
This is the first "tractor book" I
bought, and it remains a favorite.
Well-researched and well-written chapters on
Deere, Cat, Allis, Case, IH, Ford, Massey, White, and "the Orphan
Tractors."
Great photos, mostly of less-common types
like high-crops or orchard models.
Thorough text and outstanding photos
covering the company's history and the engineering
and management decisions impacting tractor
designs and production, from early experimentals through Generation II.
The book to have on the
post-Letter-Series Farmalls. In addition to terrific
photos and Guy Fay-assisted research, the book just
feels
like it was written by a Farmall guy. Ken Updike's long years
of experience make this a keeper.
Spencer Yost covers engine rebuilding
from removal
through reassembly and testing, using engines from a
Farmall F-20, Ford 8N, John Deere B, and a few others as examples.
Clear text, lots of photos.
